Moon bridge & snow lantern
Journey past the Moon Bridge and Snow Lantern.
A typical element in a Japanese Garden, the Moon Bridge, is so named because its reflection in the pond forms a perfect circle—a symbol of unity and eternity. The lantern next to the Moon Bridge dates to the earliest period of this Garden. It was electrified by the Fabyans and the light shown though rice paper screens that are no longer there. Its broad, round top is accentuated when covered with freshly fallen snow and is aptly named the “Snow Lantern.”
