A key part of the mission of Preservation Partners includes offering a variety of preservation education programs and resources to the Fox Valley community. Our organization also provides critical support to individuals and community organizations who are working toward the protection and preservation of significant sites, structures, and open spaces.

EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS
Preservation Partners offers a variety of education seminars at local libraries and community centers on topics related to historic preservation, local architecture, and restoration challenges. Previous seminars have been on differentiating between a building that is historic compared to one that is just old (pictured above, 2023), financial incentives for historic preservation, and using the IEBC to solve adaptive reuse challenges.
COMMUNITY CONSULTING
When a historic building is at risk of demolition, we work with the community to develop strategies to preserve the building and find a suitable and profitable adaptive reuse. A few local structures we are consulting with citizen committees are the Alexander Brothers’ Blacksmith Shop and Amasa White House in Geneva and the Judge Barry House in St. Charles. If you would like to help with solutions for these buildings or have a building you are concerned about, please contact us at 630-377-6424 or community@ppfv.org.
Preservation Resource Library
Located in our Beith House headquarters in St. Charles, this library houses a large selection of books, professional journals, and articles on a variety of preservation issues, including American architecture, decorative arts, design guidelines, and community histories. The general public is welcome to browse during regular Beith House hours, Mon-Thurs, 9- 3 PM. Appointments are recommended at 630-377-6424 or community@ppfv.org. Visitors may also view the first floor of the Beith House which demonstrates a variety of restoration tools and techniques.
