Visitor Information

The Durant House Museum is situated on its original site in LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St Charles.  The entrance of the Preserve is located on Dean Street about ¾ mile west of Randall Road. Dean Street is ¼ mile north of Route 64.

After entering LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, continue on the road until you see a big red barn on your left and a white frame and reddish-brown brick building on your right. The building on the right is the Durant House Museum.

Pioneer Sholes School is located beyond the Durant House and is accessed by foot by following a paved trail.
