DURANT-Peterson HOUSE hosts pioneer day camp

Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley will be hosting the Pioneer Day Camp at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles in June 2024 Campers will learn what everyday life was like, living on the prairie, in the 1800s’.

Pioneer Day Camp is overseen by museum staff and amazing volunteers! The program is crafted to showcase the history of this unique site in the Fox Valley.

2024 Pioneer DAY camp

JuNE 24, 25, 26 & 27
9:00 AM to 11:30 AM each day**

CAMPER AGE: ENTERING GRADES 3-6

$75 per child

We invite children to journey back in time to explore the daily pleasures and challenges of pioneer life. This unique, hands-on camp provides immersive experiences where learning is fun! Some of the activities include pioneer games and crafts, gardening, food gathering and preparation, cooking, chores on the farm, a visit to the creek, time at the one-room school, and more.

Spaces are limited. Please complete online Registration Form to be considered for the Camp. Credit card payment will be requested during the registration process. Once your registration has been processed, you will receive an email confirmation. Payment will be processed when you register for Camp so refer to payment policy for information regarding cancellation and refunds (where applicable.)

Members of Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley have offered to provide Day Camp scholarships to ensure families, regardless of their income, have access to historical learning experiences and education. Scholarships are limited. To apply for the Durant Day Camp scholarship, email your request to: DurantAndSholes@ppfv.org. Please include your name, address, phone number, names and ages of campers, and why you are requesting the scholarship.

One month prior to Day Camp, you will receive a Parent Packet with camp details and emergency forms to complete and return.
