Fabyan Estate Walk

The Riverbank estate, owned by Colonel George Fabyan and his wife Nelle, sprawled over 350 acres and included a Roman pool, a Dutch Windmill, ground-breaking scientific laboratories, a sundial, sunken fountain, a bear cage, an alligator pond, and more. Join us for a unique hour-long walking tour throughout the grounds to see what remains of the Fabyan estate.

Each visitor will receive as part of their tour a printed map of the estate and a memento to thank you for visiting.

The tours start promptly at 1 pm and 3 pm and will be leaving from the Fabyan Villa, so please arrive a few minutes early. This tour involves walking nearly a mile through the estate, in some places off the paved path. The tour will happen in rain or shine, barring lightning, so please dress in appropriate clothing for the weather.

Space is limited, so if possible purchase tickets in advance. Only cash or check accepted day of. Tickets are $10 per person, proceeds benefiting Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley.

The Fabyan Villa and Japanese Garden will be open that day as well. The Villa has a suggested donation of $3 for adults, $1 for children, and the Garden a suggested donation of $1. The Villa offers tours on the hour and half hour, the last leaving at 4pm.
